Abstract | The complex dynamics of monetary transactions in India are explored in this research, with a focus on the confusing cohabitation of traditional cash and the rapidly expanding world of digital payment systems. In light of governmental policies, technological developments, and evolving consumer habits, the study attempts to identify the elements influencing the ongoing need for hard cash. The study aims to provide significant insights into the changing financial transactions environment in India by examining the intricacies of this paradox and illuminating the interactions between traditional and digital payment systems. This study aims to give a full explanation of India's Currency Demand Paradox, focusing on the competing yet coexisting realms of cash and digital payment systems. The study tries to explore the complex causes underlying the persisting desire for real cash against the background of transformational government policies and breakthroughs in financial technology. This inquiry tries to unravel the complicated jigsaw that defines India's payment ecosystem through a comprehensive assessment of consumer behaviours, socioeconomic considerations, and the expanding financial infrastructure. The findings are expected to provide useful insights into the continuing story of financial history as well as enlighten stakeholders about the subtle processes affecting currency choices in the Indian market. |
