Abstract | This article examines the interplay between oligarchy, crony capitalism, and democracy, exploring how power and wealth influence governance structures in modern societies. While democracy advocates for equal representation and participation, oligarchy and crony capitalism distort this ideal by concentrating power and wealth in the hands of a few. This concentration undermines democratic principles, perpetuates inequality, and compromises the integrity of political and economic systems. The article highlights how these dynamics manifest in both developed and developing nations, the consequences for societal well-being, and potential strategies to mitigate their adverse effects. |
