Abstract Indian English fiction, a vibrant and diverse literary genre, provides a unique lens through which to explore the complex dynamics of conflict and peace in the Indian context. This research paper undertakes a comprehensive examination of how Indian English fiction portrays various forms of conflict—be it personal, social, political, or cultural—and the pursuit of peace amidst turmoil. Through a multidimensional analysis of select novels and short stories, this paper aims to elucidate the nuanced ways in which Indian writers negotiate themes of conflict and peace, reflecting the multifaceted reality of contemporary India. By interrogating narrative strategies, character development, and thematic concerns, this paper seeks to deepen our understanding of the intricate interplay between conflict and peace in Indian English fiction.
