Abstract Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is a debilitating joint condition characterized by progressive cartilage degradation, chronic pain, and impaired mobility. It is a major cause of disability, particularly in aging populations. Traditional treatments like NSAIDs and joint replacement surgeries focus on symptom management but do little to address the underlying disease mechanisms.

Recent research highlights the significant role of chronic inflammation and oxidative stress in the progression of knee OA. This has drawn attention to dietary factors capable of modulating these pathways. Nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and phytochemicals have demonstrated potential in reducing inflammation, supporting cartilage repair, and improving joint health.

This research explores the mechanistic links between nutrition and knee OA, aiming to provide evidence-based dietary strategies to complement existing treatments. It underscores the need for holistic approaches to manage knee OA and improve patient outcomes through modifiable lifestyle factors like diet.
