Abstract The USA trucking industry serves as a critical backbone for supply chain and logistics operations, yet it faces significant challenges in managing operational costs due to rising fuel prices, maintenance expenses, and driver shortages. Fleet optimization and maintenance strategies have emerged as effective solutions to reduce these expenses while maintaining efficiency and reliability. This paper explores the role of fleet optimization techniques, such as route planning, load management, and driver behavior monitoring, in minimizing fuel consumption and improving overall fleet utilization. It also examines the impact of predictive and preventive maintenance strategies on reducing unplanned downtime and maintenance costs. Furthermore, the integration of advanced technologies, including telematics and IoT-driven predictive maintenance, is discussed to enhance operational efficiency. The findings demonstrate that investing in optimization and maintenance not only reduces costs but also provides environmental and competitive advantages, paving the way for a sustainable and profitable trucking industry.
